Shocking Images LOL
I don't practice any religion and I don't follow any dogma as many times has been discussed on this blog my problem with religions is all the damage the followers cause to other people and all the wars and hate that religion provoques. Anyway this post is about some images that I grew up watching in my so colonial country (Guatemala). I think catholics have a great marketing consultant, is impossible not to be impressed by this.

Good marketing, indeed! I've said it before, but it bears repeating. The "church authorities" that founded and established Christianity were brilliant. They set up this system, whereby (they make you believe that) you are constantly being watched by this omniscient being. Then, they prohibited every NATURAL instinct that man (and all other creatures) possess. This marvelous setup makes shame and guilt entirely unavoidable, thereby ensuring the church stays in control of profit and power. It's quite a racket, but a malevolently brilliant one.
This is very interesting. I also don't follow any particular religion. These images seem designed to frighten.

yes. scary. at least one day everyone will die. that is comforting.
I have problems with images that try to manipulate your compassion and guilt to get you to believe. Is it not enough to know the stories and react to them on their merit as opposed to being bludgeoned with such gruesome images? I don't think Christ would have wanted this gore-fest to be his legacy.
Madre Dios!!! These look like they're real life.
Why can't they just immortalize Jesus in his full splendor by wearing platinum armor, a steadfast steed, while brandishing a longsword gazing into the sky with his firey blue eyes piercing the clouds? Now that would be awesome. Then with archangels donning angelic armor with their snow-white wings and firey flameswords saluting Jesus as he waltzes through the pearly gates.
Now that would be epic!
@LegendaryD - Putting myself in the shoes of someone who admires/worship Jesus, I'd have to agree. But, Christianity is set up to glorify martyrdom. That way, the sheep stay docile...just like Jesus.
yea, I don't think Christ would agree with this, either. He wants us to focus on God's love and extending that love to everyone...He doesn't want us to focus overmuch on the gore. it's enough that He died for us and that we acknowledge it--not worship His torture and crucifixion.
Hey, where u at??
